With Cassidy heading to Greece, it was Erin and I in Skopje! We stared our day by meeting one of the piece corps volunteers from a village outside of Skopje, for lunch. Believe it or not, I had my first McDonalds. I ordered what was like a hamburger, but had lettuce and cucumbers on it! For all you wondering minds, the french-fries did taste the same as at home. Another difference though is you have to pay if you want ketchup. I could not help but take a picture.

We then went walking through the Bit Bazzar and stopping at a local Turkish place for Lachmadjun, a pizza type dish. The meat is pressed onto the thin crust and then shredded lettuce and tomato are placed on top. You also get a lemon to squeeze on it. Very tasty!! Since the weather took a turn for the cold… we then went for a Turkish hot drink called, Salep. It is like warm frothy milk with cinnamon and other spices. Also VERY good!! Erin and I had a really great day- lots of walking, unfortunately in the cold, and new good food!
