Last day of classes this week, and although yesterday was a holiday, there were still a pretty good number of students in classes. Following classes I boarded a combi to head to Skopje for the weekend. Sometimes the group of individuals in the combi can be pretty unique. Today I was with 3 students from the university so it was not a diverse group of individuals. It turned out that one of the students spoke very good English and was interesting to talk to! More people to people interactions!
Arriving in Skopje I went right to Plaza de Torro to meet Cassidy, Lizzie and Justin for some lunch. We then stopped back at Cassidy’s to drop off our things and pick up Mary, who is an ETA in Kosovo and was joining us for the weekend’s events. We all then headed to the American Corner, for a presentation by another Fulbrighter Daniel. He does a presentation each week on American Political Thought. Since I am not a regular attender of the club, I had not done the readings on the Puritian time, but it was still interesting to be a part of and hear the opinions of others in attendance.
Lesson: Getting to be together as a group of Americans makes you stand out even more than when you are a single one, but there is comfort in company!
