Wednesday I headed to the American Corner for a presentation/discussion on Human Rights with one of the POs from the US Embassy. She started the discussion with stories from America’s history during the Civil Rights movement. Macedonia is going through a time of change, and has been since 2001. Hearing the individuals speak about their experiences was very thought provoking for me. Change is so hard especially when you are trying to change such a large group or population. Living the day to day a person can become defeated.

Following the discussion I had my first Learning English Through Games Club. This is going to be a club for people of all ages who want to learn English. For this first club we learned a game called Golf. It is a card game where the goal is to get the lowest score. Although this first group was small, we were mighty and had a great time strategizing our game plans!
Lesson: Change is something seen over time, the day to day can feel insurmountable, but stay the course, change will come if you are determined.
